Hey Everyone,
I'm working on a script of a film that I want to make for Sony Tropfest this year [talk about leaving it to the last minute huh?].. I'm going to attempt a low-budget-made-to-look-higher-budget style film (which will mostly be done in post anyway so that's not really important right now). It'll be shot in black and white - It's a WW2 drama (I say drama 'coz there's no way I can afford to make an action film]
Locations I need:
There are 2 main locations needed in the film.
A dinner room - I just thought of asking an RSL club or something if I could borrow one of thier function rooms for a night, anyone have any idea how much that'd cost?
A Field surrounded by trees - Now it would be perfect if someone reading this lives on a property like this, or, knows of a really really nice person who'd let me film there for a day or two [fingers crossed] something that looks kind of like this would be good:
If anyone could help me out with that, I'd really appreciate it..
Now, with actors, the film is based around two german soldiers, i'd really love to find two 20-something year olds that fluently speak german to be in the film - but the chances of finding two people like that would be very low. So I might have to just use two of my friends, unfortunatly, they can't speak a word of german so it'll lose it's authencity as it'll be in English.
Also, i'm 18 in April, and i know it wouldn't be a problem for most people, but the actors if I found them would need to be completly fine with taking direction from a 17 year old.. but yeah, as I said, that shouldn't be a problem.
The script is almost done, I've just got to write a little bit more which I'll do when I've finished posting this message.
Anyway, the reason this is so urgent is because I really need to get this done within the next 2 or 3 weeks so I can start editing and making it perfect for Tropfest. I would have done it all sooner, but it's just been hard for me lately with school and everything else.
Wish me Luck.

Sorry, but Australia does not look like WWII Europe - it will stick out like dogs balls. I am not aware of German soldiers serving in the Pacific Theatre of Operations in WWII, except as advisers to the then Nazi Japanese government.
